RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….

THE CAT’S PRAYER
My Dear Friend and Companion, hear my Prayer. Although I am too proud to beg and may appear to be a very independent creature, I ask for your loving care and attention. I rely on you for my well being much more than you may realize.
I promise you, my friend, that I will not be a burden on you nor will I demand more of you than you care to give.
I will be a quiet peaceful island of serenity for you to gaze upon, a soft soothing body to caress and I shall purr with pleasure to calm your weary soul.
Since I am a gourmet who appreciates good food, I pray you will give me a variety of nutritious foods and fresh water daily.
You know, dear friend, how I love to nap. Allow me, I pray, a warm, sheltered place where I can rest peacefully and feel secure.
If I am wounded in battle or suffering from disease, tend me gently, I pray and see that I am treated by loving and competent hands.
Please protect me from the inhuman people who would hurt and torture me for their own amusement. I am accustomed to your gentle touch and not always suspicious nor swift enough to avoid such malicious acts.
In my later years when my senses fail me and my infirmities become too great to bear, allow me the comfort and dignity that I desire for my closing days. Do not prolong my suffering but help me gently in my pain and passing.
HEAR THIS PRAYER, MY DEAR FRIEND.
MY FATE DEPENDS ON YOU.

A KITTY’S PRAYER
Now I lay me down to sleep, the king size bed is soft and deep
I sleep right in the center groove, my human has no room to move.
I’ve trapped their legs, they’re tucked in tight
And here is where I’ll spend the night
No one disturbs me or dares to intrude
Till morning comes and I want food.
I sneak up slowly and begin, to nibble on my human’s chin
They wake up quickly without pause, encouraged by my teeth and claws.
Now morning’s here and it’s time to play
I always seem to get my way!
So thank you Lord, for giving me these humans to take care of me.
CATTITUDE
I’m only a cat, and I stay in my place –
Up there on your chair on your bed or your face
I’m only a cat, and I don’t finick much –
I’m happy with cream and anchovies and such.
I’m only a cat, and we’ll get along fine
As long as you know I’m not yours –
You’re all mine
